A Council committee has unanimously passed a resolution Cam authored, putting Minneapolis on record as strongly supporting locally-grown food, and creating an implementation task force to put into actions the great recommendations from the Homegrown Minneapolis report.
Cam has been an active supporter of the Homegrown Minneapolis initiative, which seeks to increase the amount of sustainably and locally-produced food being consumed, distributed and grown in Minneapolis. He's devoted numerous hours of his staff's time to the initiative, for instance by tasking his policy aide with serving on the initiative steering committee. Cam strongly believes that the City should do more to support the local food economy, for the health, environmental and community-building benefits that it brings.
