At a debate sponsored by the Minnesota Daily on October 15, Cam made clear why he is the best choice to represent the people of Ward 2 for another four years. He articulated a vision, shared by the majority of the people of the Ward, of a more just, democratic, peaceful and sustainable city.
His challenger, who is endorsed by the Republican party, also presented a vision: of a city without rental licensing regulations, where government doesn't try to preserve homeownership in U-area neighborhoods, and where business owners are allowed to have "free rein" to do as they please. It is the same vision of an unregulated economy that has brought us the collapse of the worldwide financial system and subsequent recession, and it is not embraced by the people of Ward 2.
